Bill Reichle for Piedmont

Bill Reichle ("Rike-lee") is running for City Council in Piedmont to bring long-term vision and management to sustain our small-town quality of life. Bill is a fourth generation Californian who moved to Piedmont with his wife — Piedmont native Julie Tanner Reichle — and their daughters in 2000. He was immediately impressed with the Piedmont community for its civic pride, beautiful parks and facilities, and volunteer spirit.

 

Bill is a graduate of UC Berkeley and earned his MBA at CSU East Bay while working full-time. He spent the first-half of his career in marketing in San Francisco, working as a partner in a marketing communications agency serving corporate clients.

As Assistant Vice Chancellor at UC Berkeley, Bill developed strategic plans, budgets, policies, and communications for campus departments that mirror those of Piedmont’s city government, including: police, emergency management, facilities, human resources, disability access, sustainability, and capital projects.

​

Bill has had the honor of serving with friends and neighbors on community committees and boards including the Piedmont Education Foundation, where he served as Chair of its audit committee. He has also served on the boards of Camp Augusta, PHS Boosters, and the Piedmont Youth Soccer League. He also enjoys helping Dress Best for Less (DBFL) set-up for their "Bag Sale" on the last Saturday of each month. Outside of Piedmont, Bill  chaired the capital campaign for the Lair of the Golden Bear, raising $2.4 million in gifts to help rebuild the popular Cal alumni summer camp.

In his spare time, Bill enjoys swimming, gardening, working on his 99-year old home, and, once a year, backpacking in the high Sierra.
